Performance issues

Hello,

I have lots of performance issues with X1 Search. Frankly, the program borders on "laggy" or "unresponsive" several times.

At first I thought it was my laptop's problem : it has 3GB or RAM and a decent core I5 processor, but my index is pretty large (lots of outloon mails, files and attachments) and I thought I would learn to live with the fact that switching from one search view to another could take up between 3 to 10 seconds, or that the "search as you type" functionnality was more of a "type, wait 5 seconds for your text to appear, then wait more to see the results".

But I then tested it at home on my main computer with a core I3 3.10 Ghz, 4Gb or ram and got the same performance issues. I don't see why a computer that manages to run 3D modelling software or high-end 3D games could have problems with a "file search engine", so I guess you have lots of work to do on optimization...unless I'm the only one having performance issues ? Using the software while indexing takes place is nearly impossible for instance.

I would like to be more specific but I don't know what to report more ; all my systems are 32Bits system, which might explain some of the performance, but your competitor Copernic Desktop Search is significantly faster and fluid in any circunstance. My guess is the fact that they don't offer "search as you type" and don't try to show you a full list of your files by default helps.
