I just installed X1 Search 8 beta on another machine, also Win7 x64, but one with a relatively fresh OS install on which I had never installed X1 before. The beta installer recognized I didn't have .net 4 installed and installed it first. Installer log shows no errors and successful install. Sadly, I still can't launch X1. Cursor spins for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. Tried restarting the system, no change. Also tried starting the X1 Index Service, with the same results as on my other system. Very frustrating.
