mrwul - based on your update to this post I suspect that when you say you're closing X1 you may be using the Red X in the upper right corner of the interface? Particularly with V6.7.4, this does not "close" X1 in the sense that it does not fully terminate all processing but rather leaves X1 free to index in the background.
Try these steps:
- V 6.7.4 - Disable Check for updates. Disable Launch at Startup. Disable Real-Time Indexing for Files.
- V7 Pro Beta - Go to the Menu > Options > General Tab and disable Check for new Version on Startup. Activate Shutdown Indexing on Application Close. Disable Minimize to the Notification Area. Disable Start X1 When I Start Windows. Disable Start X1 Indexing Service When I Start Windows.
For V6.7.4 use File > Exit to fully close the interface. For V7 use Menu > Exit.
Because the X1MasterService is already running you'll need to reboot.
After reboot I expect no X1 service of any sort to be available.
Launch either or both products.
V6 will start X1.exe, and X1Service.exe. It will not start X1Filemon (because you disabled real-time indexing for files), it will not start X1Systray.exe.
V7 will start a second X1.exe, X1ContentExtraction.exe, X1ServiceHost.exe, X1Viewer.exe and X1MasterService.exe.
File > Exit for v6 - both processes will terminate.
Menu > Exit for v7 all processes except the X1masterservice.exe will terminate.
