X1 constantly crashing

So have been using X1 for about 8 years. Currently have been using v 8 for about the past year and have the most current version installed.

This program has become so bad it's completely unusable. When I open a X1 search, I basically can do 1 search, and then it crashes. If I click on another window, X1 crashes. If I go to the help -> about, it crashes. Just about everything causes it to hang. I haven't changed the configuration in months.

The system logs shows:

Not even sure where to start on this.

This is a fairly high end workstation, watercooled using a very good quality motherboard and other components. System setup is Win 7_64. 16 Gb of RAM. Running OS on a SSD drive, documents are on a separate HD. My X1 index is rather large, about 2Gb total. I haven't tried deleting and rebuilding simply because it takes a really long time to reindex everything.
