The percentage thing on indexing is misleading, always has been.
As I understand it, it is not a measure of how much of your data X1 has indexed, but an indication of how much it has done in its current run. So you may have 99 per cent of your data indexed, and the 60 per cent is how much of that 1 per cent it has dealt with.
I can't comment on the memory used, but it doesn't seem like a lot to me. My browser does more than that.
The crash is something else. But you'll have to tell the X1 folks a bit more about that crash notification. I doubt if that is enough detail to go on. They may also want to know a bit more about your environment.
