Hotkey triggers X1 even when the option is disabled

Make sure you close X1 fully so that it writes your changes to the appropriate files.

The best bet is probably to close X1 itself rather than leave it to Windows, which may perform "premature withdrawal", closing everything down before all of the housekeeping is complete.

And, of course, reboot.
