Further to my previous post, I may have found the reason for the auto update failure. I have Kapersky Internet Security 2012 installed and as of this latest build, it is claiming "X1ContentExtractor" has "Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Deliver.rh" Based on past experience with Kapersky, it often throws up spurious claims and blocks software from operating correctley, maybe it blocked the update installation.
