Harry - as Kenward noted, X1 has never supported *string* style searching. In the search world X1's approach to search is known as Prefix Based. This means that each entry you make is treated as the beginning of the search string such that entering the letter A is like A* - finding anything that contains the first letter A. Enter AN and your searching AN* so your results now return results that start with AN (An, And, Answer etc.).
In the case of this specific file AZDOR_82130AAA.pdf - X1 sees this file as being comprised of three "parts" or words if you will. Azdor 82130AAA and PDF.
