System crashes when trying to set data sources

I have just installed x1 search 8.0.1. When I try to configure data sources (using the pencil icon to the right of the files icon), the program crashes (even if I pause indexing first). I receive the following error: "object reference not set to an instance of an object" - I never actually get to try to configure anything - just hitting the pencil icon causes an immediate crash.

Any idea how I can fix this? I do not really want the program to index my entire drive, just a specific subdirectory.
