My installation attempt also failed twice - one after a complete reboot. Same problem as Cgi-joe above.
W10, 64-bit
Looking forward to a fix.

Just thought of this: why not double-click on a search (in the left menu or the Favorites bar) to clear it? That is my most frequent first step, and this shortcut would eliminate an awkward pause while I wait to see where the "Clear" button will end up after I switch to the search I want to use.

Is that searches that you created and saved? Or tweaked versions of the hard-wired searches?

Found this on another thread and it worked for me:

- Open X1
- Click Menu > Options > Search - disable the check box for Proportionally resizing columns when the results pane width changes.

This is driving me crazy. Everytime I reboot, I need to go in and adjust the column widths on all my saved searches. Please let me know if you find a solution.

In the event that it assists in troubleshooting this issue, I'll mention that since posting my OP, I've noticed that the location of the second column (and of course any columns to the right of the second column, as well) varies with each launch of X1, resulting in greatly differing distances between the left edge of the X1 window and the left edge of the second column. Sometimes the second column is in the location where I set it, but most of the time it is completely off the screen.

Since the installation of v8.6, which I'm currently running (on a Win 10 desktop PC), I'm experiencing a problem where X1 forgets the custom column widths that I've set every time I close the program. The result is that every time I open the program, the "Name" column, which I've set to be the first column on the left side of the interface, occupies more than the entire width of my screen, forcing me to drag the horizontal scroll bar to even begin to see the second column ("Path").

What is causing this? What can I do to fix this?

Ignore images in attachments field

99% of what I see in the attachments field are images from email signatures, which makes finding an actual attachment much harder. I suppose some people have a need to search images, but I imagine most people do not.

X1 has stopped indexing Outlook Exchange

My X1 8.63 6003ch has stopped indexing my exchange account, (which I normally access via Outllok) since 24'th of May. When I press "Scan Now" it returns to "finished" status after 30 sec. and shows last indexing 24.5..18. There are many new mails.

what can I do to get it scan correctly and bring the new mails?

Does anyone know how to 'fix' columnwidths?

With me, I need to set the columnwidths each time. Resizing does not 'stick' : the next time I need to set the widths again.
Right now, after starting, 'Date'-column of 14cm ...
or
when resetting, I get the below
Long file names are not displayed in full.
Neither type nor date, but the created date is about 20-22cm wide ...

probably there is no fix.
looks like the view is not saved in some ini or cfg file.

Searching for string containing cahracters such as . / ? etc

X1 works well when searching for single words or standard sentences however is I try to find "word1.word2.word3" I get issues (word1 etc are place holders for actual text used). Specifically it lists a load of emails but there is nothing highlighted in those I have inspected as having been found, let alone the actual phase searched for.

Further when testing using the search criterian "This.is" it found "This is" ---- NOTE No full stop. I assume this is by design: how do I disable this?

Indexing Fault with 8.6 6003

Since installing this version, my indexes are never up to date when I open the app. What I see every time (using the information dialog in the bottom right corner) is that the Outlook Calendar is active doing something but the status of all the other items are out of date (1 - 2 days is not uncommon).

The workaround I found was to 'Pause' all indexing then immediately 'Resume All'. That kicks it off again.

Delete Confirmation Options

Is there a way to supress the confirmation boxes that display when deleting emails from within X1?

If not, perhaps a future release could include a tick box in options to turn off 'confirm deletions'.

msg preview not working

hello

i tested on 4 PCs all running windows 10 creator fall, using outlook 365.

As soon as the files index is updated none of the msg files in "msg" view nor in "all" view can be previewed.

Can any confirm the same ?

I have reported this to X1 support being a BUG, i havent renewed my support subscription lately so i have not heard anything from them regarding solution or the like
