X1 on Outlook 2013 on Windows 8

Hi,

If the Outlook on your new machine is 64-bit, then there is no chance to index it from X1 6.x, as it does not support 64-bit at all.

X1 Search 8 should work - the Cancelled status indicates some problem with the setup ... if you edit the Outlook Email settings, what do you see in the tree?
