I have had X1 Pro 6.7.4 and X1 Search 8 working side by side, with little sign of harm. I even have X1 Search 7 working alongside X1 Pro 6.7.4 on another PC. (That version also has some useful extras, such as social networks, that have not made it into X1 Search 8, which is all about email and files.)
How do I install this version without obliterating X1 Pro 6.7.4? Indeed, Is it possible?
I'm sorry, but I am not parting with X1 Pro 6.7.4. It contains just too many things that you have removed from X1 Search 8, such as searches on RSS feeds. (The "At a Glance" comparison chart somehow manages to ignore these.) Indeed, the additions probably are not enough to prompt me to part with money for an "upgrade".
