Jogy - I did that, and a command prompt window opened up with a bunch of logging. Several instances of X1ContentExtraction.exe also started up and are crunching away, presumably building an index. I let it run for a while, but when I closed the cmd prompt window all the executables terminated. Started it up again and will let it run longer. The log file you asked about earlier now appears in %appdata%, but there are no error messages that I can see - just logging for the scanning processes. To my untrained eye, that looks normal. But why doesn't it run on its own, and why the cmd prompt windows? And more importantly ...
Chris - yes, tried it again after doing what Jogy asked, but the result is the same. Curson spins briefly, but the X1 program and UI doesn't appear.
I sure would like to get this going. I saw another person posted having had the same problem (or so it seemed by the post).
