DOS-Window

Milei - I’ve not heard of this behavior previously in Search 8 beta so we do appreciate you're bringing this to our attention.

What language version of Windows XP is this? If it is an English OS, what sub-category of English (English-US, English-UK, etc). Do you have any MUI language packs installed?

Please download and run our systems diagnostics tool. Here are the steps:

1. Download: http://support.x1.com/cs/x1s_diagnostic_tool.exe
2. Double-click the downloaded "x1_diagnostic_tool.exe" file to run (Vista/Win7 users with UAC turned on should right-click the file and select Run as administrator)
3. A Windows Explorer window will open when the tool has finished (this may take a minute).
4. Inside the x1supportfiles directory, send the ZIP file

Also, you should find a set of installer logs in this directory: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. They may carry the file name X1Pro_install......log. If you could find these and could zip them as well that would be helpful. You might add a screen shot to this zip as well.

Send the logs and diagnostics to this dropbox location: https://inet.idealab.com/dropbox/

Follow the instructions on the screen. Once the file transfer is complete you will be provided with a unique URL, or possibly two, that you should email back to me at cwheaton@x1.com. This will allow me to access the files and pull them down to our systems for further review.

Lastly, I wonder if this has something to do with the .Net installations on your system. Test the stability of the .Net Framework versions installed on your system using this Microsoft tool.

Once done try a repair install of the beta and let me know if the interface launches properly.
