Seems prety drastic to disconnect all comms so that the X1 search app does not die, especially considering that one feature is to index PST files and to populate these requires comms.... I have taken a look with the MS/SysInternals tools and it does not appear that x1.exe has any comms connections. on the other hand X1ServiceHost.exe is connected to my Exchange server...
