I have since found some software to control the laptop fan to within set temperature limits.
The software showed the upper limit for the laptop temperature limit to be 80 Degrees Celsius. I have lowered the upper temperature limit down to 65 Degrees Celsius and the laptop temperature, deleted the X1 indexes and let the indexing to run.
The fan is running full speed and is a bit noisy. But the laptop temperature is staying at 70 Degrees Celsius.
I have not found any means to throttle X1 indexing. It seems to always run full speed.
