X1 Search Index is up-to-date button

You mean you see that message every time you boot and start X1?

I haven't seen it in weeks and have never managed to work out what caused it. It just magically appears from time to time.

If you really can get it to show reliably, maybe X1 should use you to try to work out what is happening. As Jerald says, X1 hasn't managed to make it happen back at base.
