QuarkXpress - support and customise the Browser

It may not be flagged as something you can do, but if ever you change a search, just hit Ctrl + S to update the thing. You can't do that with the hard-wired ones.

While you are sniffing around, check the Filter saved searches slot to cut through to a heap of saved searches.

Then there is the stuff in Federation - 'The All Search'. I still don't know how best to use that. But it seems to be powerful.
