how to tell if the email status is read or unread

I'd rather have the Bold versus Normal that Outlook uses in its display. But my guess is that both of these would be a bit too complicated to implement.



So having the status column is a good alternative.



By the way, if you regularly want to find Unread mail then you can save a search based on that Column. Then, when you have saved the search, you can get rid of that column from that search.
