Greetings Beta Community!
We are pleased to announce the public beta for X1 Search 8.3!
This version includes many updates to our SharePoint connector, including support for SubSite searching, new PSAs, exposure of Document Version detail, and more. We have also added UI features such as a zoom control for email and html items, the ability to change the font size of results, and an indication of search terms in refinement columns.
As always, we've also worked to tackle as many bugs and crashes as possible.
NOTE: We are not using in-application upgrades for this beta, so you'll need to use the installers we post in the forums during this beta period.
I've update the link below and it is now working properly:

If you are running a version prior to 8.X, we recommend uninstalling your older X1 Search client before installing this beta.
NOTE: This build will expire on 11/1/14. All beta users will need to upgrade to the GA version prior to this date to continue using X1 Search.

Additional comments about a few features:
1. SharePoint subsite searching
X1 now supports the ability to target searches to subsites (for SharePoint 2010 and later). We have added a new option when adding or editing a SharePoint Data Source. After hitting 'Next' on the main configuration page, you will be presented with the option to configure subsites. The following screen allows you to either browse your SharePoint site or search for sites by site name. Here's a screenshot:

Once you've selected some subsites and choose 'Finish' we will create Saved Searches for those sites:

2. Brokered Searching
We've cleaned up the status messages while performing Brokered Searches (Rapid, SharePoint) and we've moved the Get More / Get All controls to the results pane. We've also added the ability to clear just your refinements, while leaving the primary search in place:

3. Column Refinement notification
We've added a feature that causes the refinement headers to change color whenever a search term has been entered into any column. This gives you a visual indicator that you currently have refinements affecting your results, even if the terms are in a column not currently visible in the results pane.

4. Results Pane Font Size
We have added an option to allow you to change the font size used for results. This change will also impact how many results you are able to view in the results pane at one time. This is available via Menu > Options > Search tab.

As always, this is beta software. Bugs can and will happen, so please be prepared for unexpected behavior.
