X1 8.2.4 won't start minimized to tray

I cannot get X1 8.2.4 (the latest available) to start minimized. Running W7 x64. I have selected the option to start X1 with Windows and to start minimized, but when W7 starts, X1 pops up (usually maximized) and just stays there. I've tried changing the shortcut in the startup folder to "minimized" as well, but nothing seems to help.

How can I force X1 to start with Windows and minimize to the tray automatically?
