I have X1 index MS-Outlook PST files that I do not reference in MS-Outlook. These PST files contain older emails that I do not need day-to-day.
In trying to protect the integrity of these PST files, I changed them to 'read-only' on my local drive. However, I found that X1 stopped indexing these PST files until I set them to be readable again. Then the PST files were indexed again.
I also see that from MS-Explorer and the 'General' tab in the file 'Properties' dialog, that the modified timestamp is changing. As X1 is the only application referencing these PST files, I must assume it is X1.
1. Why must PST be readable?
2. Why is X1 modifying PST files to index them?
