I've tried installing 8.1 several times... it downloads and appears to start working its way through the installation, but rather than success it reports the same 'An error occured preventing installation' message, with the following:
This installation requires that you stay connected to the Internet while installing. If you believe this connection may have been interrupted during the install attempt then please retry this installer and ensure the internet connection stays up.
My internet connection is rock solid, so this is frustrating. I'm using Window 8, have tried rebooting before installing (same problem), and have tried stopping X1 and all related services before installing (same problem.)
