This release also seems to have fixed my usability issues.
X1 now clears a search and instantly reverts to showing the who caboodle. No need to wander off to activate a completely different search.
I was beginning to think that the underlying issue was that X1 was about to crash. The new approach, with X1 reporting a lost connection within itself rather than immediately calling home, meant that I couldn't really tell if there had been a major explosion under the hood.
