This morning I submitted a X1 support case. I got a response inside 3 hours and the issue was that the limit for the activation count was exhausted. The X1 Support Team addressed this issue for me. I guess if I had been able to uninstall X1 first (had not the laptop crashed), this may have not been an issue.

Perhaps a "temporary" licence could be granted (say 3 or 5 days) if the activation count has been exceeded with a warning to the user. This would give a user time to contact X1 Support to try to resolve the matter. I understand it would make the activation process more complex but this would give a softer, nicer experience to X1 users.
