Should I add drive letter or network path?

I have the same question ... anyone?

I have utilised the mapped drive letter in Windows approach. When I am disconnected from the network, and X1 tries to preview a search result in the preview pane, X1 shows "File preview not available: <Network path to file>".

Would utilising the network path approach provide a different result (e.g. show a preview even when disconnected)? I realise that's not likely, but can't hurt to inquire ...
