V8.1 - emails have disappeared !

Hi

I have just installed the upgrade of X1 Search from v8.0 to v8.1.

My problem is that it seems to have lost all my emails (outlook2010 .OST and .PST archive files). WORSE, there doesn't seem to be any way of getting them back. I mean, if you go to Menu ==> Data sources, local email is no longer mentioned!
The options are: "AOL, Gmail, IMAP, Yahoo, SharePoint, X1 Server" - but no Outlook.

EDIT01 OR should I now add my Outlook files as files? (!)
EDIT02 Either way the bizarre thing is that emails don't seem to be mentioned anywhere any longer in the left hand menus.
EDIT03 Wait a minute, I think my license may have expired.

P.S. In the meantime how do I uninstall v8.1 and get 8.0 back so that I can still see my Outlook emails?
