Hello. I am a new user of X1 and am mostly inquiring about the capabilities of the program to index a large number of files. I have 4 GB of downloaded web files from robot downloaders. This translates to about 350 GB of data. Kind of a hobby of mine. At the moment I use Archivarious but I stumbled upon X1 and thought it showed some increased benefits. Not the least of which is a much better preview window.
So I guess I'm just wondering about some does and don't about dealing with such large indexes. I think if X1 ever gets finished indexing the file is going to total over 10 GB. That'd be the whole folder I would guess. Big corporation must have gigabytes and gigabytes to index. My impression is that even X1 struggles with what I have. I don't see any way to 'repair' or 'rebuild index'. To 'compact' or 'update only new files'. In short it seems like tools for dealing with indexes are lacking in all of these programs that I have looked at.
Anyways, wondering if there would be some comments about speed and size.
And by the way I have an AMD 8 core 3.1 GHz processor and 16 GB RAM OS Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
