As some of you have noticed, we have reduced the frequency of updates and removed the X1 Pro 7 pages from our website. Let me offer an explanation of the current status of the product.
While the majority of you had a very positive experience, we’ve decided to temporarily remove Pro 7 from our public facing website to perform additional development and further optimize the code. Our goals are improving overall performance, as well as specifically addressing the most persistent problems of high system usage and overall sluggishness.
A few important notes:
•Please feel free to continue using 7.0. We will still intermittently push updates to the beta community in the next few months, but not as frequently. We will continue to monitor your commentary here in the forums and at betafeedback@x1.com.
•We plan to release v 7 sometime in 2012, but the exact time frame is uncertain at this point.
•In the interim, we will issue a maintenance release on the 6.7 branch to fix known bugs and polish the UI. We will post more information as we have it.
Pro 7 is an ambitious and aggressive upgrade, containing significant enhancements to the indexing engine and user-interface, as well as an undertaking we strongly believe is necessary to our long-term vision. We have no doubt that the end result of this process, and brief pause, will be a better X1 Pro 7.
Most importantly, we want to thank you for your detailed and thoughtful feedback. Your dedicated support uncovered the issues detailed above and informed the path of improvements going forward. We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
