Have you considered releasing an update to X1 7 beta unchanged but for a hard-coded end date of, say, 30th June 2013?
This means I could run the old X1 in the meantime until a release is ready in the next few weeks. It also takes the pressure off the X1 developers to get a fix out until they are ready.
